Yellow & Red

Yellow and red are possibly one of my favorite color combinations of all time.  Lucky for me it was warm enough on Summer Solstice to break out this sundress I bought a few months back but still had not had a chance to wear. I wore it to work at the office with this bright yellow cardigan that I thrifted a couple years back.   Sometimes I'm not quite sure what is exactly "office appropriate" (i.e., bearing your shoulders in a sundress?) so I ended up erring on the side of caution and threw on the cardigan before I left the house.  This is about as "business casual" as I can get on a hot day in San Francsico.
p.s.  These are the first photos I've taken with my new camera and I'm really stoked with the results. After using my crapadelic point and shoot for so long I was starting to wonder if it was really the camera's fault or if I was just a shitty photographer (or maybe a combo of the two)?-- anyway, a camera upgrade makes such a huge difference.  Hooray!

  1. i have tried to ignore my desire for hasbeens, but they just look too good on you here! i wish h&m in Belfast had stocked them, they are super expensive on ebay but they look so good! beautiful dress and i love the nautical necklace :)

  2. Wow, the photos taken with your new camera look great! I'm in love with your sailboat necklace, although I think I might've mentioned that to you before, and the red sundress is just perfect! I love the little detail at the top! Hope you're enjoying that beautiful sunshine you seem to be having! :)

  3. Congrats on the new camera. Cameras can really make a difference. Also, I love the color on the dress. :)

  4. that is a such a lovely combination of colors, especially worn with white sandals.

  5. Hey There lady. I love the yellow/red combo and the white shoes! This outfit screams summer! Hooray for the new camera! I'm ready for a lens upgrade but must save a bit more for it. I'm back and catching up on posts~

  6. How funny I used to have a vintage dress like this so it's interesting to see how the style has been re-interpreted by a contemporary designer.

Haven't tried pairing red & yellow before, you've inspired me to give it a try!

  7. CONGRATS! the new camera must be so much fun. That dress is devine...San Francisco is so amazing when the heat comes. I may have bought more sweedish hasbeens in the H&M in Berlin :s Ok, i'm adicted. We should def grab drinks when I am home and this time make sure Analise can make it. xx

  8. so cute! red and yellow seem like an appropriate 'custard heart' color palette to me. congrats on your new camera! my dslr completely changed my quality of life.

  9. I love vintage!!! I really like your blog, if you like we can follow each other! :-)
