Summer Poison

The weather has been just glorious in the last week, but unfortunately I couldn't fully sartorially partake in it due to a case of poison oak.  Hopefully you're not familiar with it's effects on the skin, it's not very pretty to say the least.   I'm one of those highly allergic people who can't even look at it without coming away with a few patches of it.   It grows wild all over California, particularly near sandy beach dune areas which was where I must have picked it up.  I somehow managed to get it on my left wrist and right ankle-- I suspect Misty brushed against it and she gave it to me when I picked her up.  So relieved she didn't get any!  So it's been mainly pants and long sleeves for me this past week, kind of boring.  Anyway, happy to report it's on it's way out and can't be gone soon enough for me.
These Madewell pants were just long enough to cover up any undesirable parts and luckily  it was cool enough for a long sweater yesterday.  Spent the day out in Glen Canyon Park and then to Indian food and a movie.  All in all a pretty good Sunday (minus the poison oak part that is).

  1. I'm sorry about your encounter with poison oak...but I have to say that this outfit is extremely cute! I don't find it boring at all! In fact, I just put it in my folder of favorites. I love the green and blue together, the sailor sweater and sandals are adorable, the pants look like such a good fit...um, yeah, this outfit rocks.

  6. First, that is a sad and terrible story. Poison Oak sounds just awful, but I'm glad to hear it's on the way out! Second, you look so chic here! I love all things nautical, so that sweater is a favorite, and you already know how jealous I am of your Swedish Hasbeens, and I am loving those Madewell pants! Madewell is one of my favorite websites to browse, but I have yet to actually take the next step and order something (one of these days!!)

  8. No! No! I hope you are feeling better. Poison oak is just the worse, but I hope you are recovering from your little run-in with the horrible plant. Looking lovely! I dream of Swedish Hasbeens. xx

  11. I'm glad to hear you're doing better and looking very fashionable while recovering! This summer has been a wet one here in Chicago so mosquitoes have been everywhere. Somehow I've developed an allergy to their bites so they blow up to 10x their original size. :(
