Jewelry Christmas Tree

Had a lovely Thanksgiving at my brother and his wife's house last night.  At one point the conversation turned to Christmas trees.  Then,  Denise, a family friend showed me a picture of this vintage jewelery Christmas tree in a frame that her great-grandmother passed down to her.  It is made of costume jewelry and actually plugs in to light up and hang on the wall.  Needless to say I was absoulutely be-dazzled by it and am planning on gathering up my own pile of costume jewlery to make my own.  What a fabulous idea!

Whimsical Weather Vanes

With the cold weather that's finally in town my husband and I have  been hanging out near the fire every night crafting and reading and the other night we decided to build this gingerbread house I had bought.

Custard Heart Vintage Dream House with heart weather vanes
It was a pre-fab so all we had to do was the fun part--decorating.  When it came down to it, Damien was actually the site foreman on the job and I was the only worker, but anyway, we decided that the one thing that our fairytale house was missing  was a weather vane--there's just something about weather vanes that add a fairytale aspect to any house.  I have decided it's on my must-have list when it comes to buying a non-edible house one day.

One of my favorites--perfect for a house in Cape Cod!

on the Tower of London

on the Wimbledon-Chase building, London

Send mixed signals and wear your claddagh on your house instead of your finger!

Needs a bigger weather vane but love the house and wild garden.

Inspirations: Henry Clarke

Henry Clarke is one of those photographers whose work is nothing but inspiring on a daily basis.  He's responsible for a large majority of the fashion images I constantly have have playing in the back of my mind whether I'm conscious of it or not.  His work captures the epitome of grace and elegance.

I included one of his photos in my last blog post and I thought I'd share some more of my favorites...enjoy! ♥

Outfit du Jour: Leopard & Stripes

I love leopard print and I love stripes so I combined two of my favorite patterns into another rainy day fit.  The beret is fuzzy & new and I was anticipating it being itchy, but it was comfy enough to wear all  day long!  This trench coat I found on one of my estate sale adventures and it was originally going into the shop, but it fit me perfect and since it's been raining...I think you get the picture.

1.  leopard beret, H & M
2. trench coat, vintage
3.  striped top, vintage
4.  boots, Frye
5. red leather tote, Desmo
